About Sightsale

Sightsale is an independent guide to the world's great sights and how to visit them best. We don't sell tickets: every page points you to the official site first.

Who we are

Sightsale is made by Upper Eight AB, a small Swedish company in Malmö that builds websites and digital tools. It exists because planning a visit to a famous sight has become harder than it should be: the official ticket site is buried under look-alike resellers, the best slots sell out weeks ahead, and the advice online is often old, vague or selling something.

How the pages are made

Each sight page is researched from the sight’s own official pages and ticket site, the ticket and tour platforms’ product pages, tourism boards, recent travel news and the places travellers talk: forums such as TripAdvisor’s and Rick Steves’, and city travel communities. Tips from forums are rewritten in our own words and never attributed to a person. Every price has the month it refers to, and every page shows the date it was last checked. A ticket seller, tour or deal is listed only if we saw its live page during the research.

We say plainly when the official ticket is the best buy, and what you get for the extra money when it isn’t. “Deals” on Sightsale are real ones: free days, discounts, combined tickets and passes that pay off, not invented sales.

Country pages list each country’s sights with what applies across the country, and the guides cover what applies everywhere: planning a visit, skip-the-line tickets, city passes and the scams that follow tourists.

Keeping it up to date

Prices, opening hours and booking rules change, often more than once a year. We re-check pages oldest first, and the date at the top of each page tells you when it was last checked. If you spot something out of date, a tour we should add or a tip that worked for you, tell us.

Advertising and independence

Sightsale is free to read. To keep it that way we may in future earn a commission when you book through some of our links, show advertising, or work with tour companies and tourism boards. When we do, it will never change what a page says about which ticket to buy, and any paid placement will be clearly marked as Sponsored. Today no link on the site is paid.

We can never guarantee a ticket seller, tour company or deal. The disclaimer says this in full.
